Subwoofers
A subwoofer speaker that reproduces bass frequencies at the lower end of the audio spectrum, subwoofer systems typically include a crossover network that filters lower frequencies around 100Hz and under to the driver. In a home theatre system the subwoofer provides impact and depth to things like explosions and augments smaller speaker systems that are not capable of producing low frequencies.
